Drawings Delay or Specific Instructions for FIDIC Contracts
Drawings Delay or Specific Instructions for FIDIC Contracts
– The engineer must be prepared if work is delayed due to the non-issuance of drawings or instructions in a timely manner.
– Notifications must clearly state: what is required, why, when it must be issued, and the expected outcome.
– If the engineer delays issuing the requested information, and the contractor is not notified (after the agreed-upon notice period):
• Extension of the completion period.
• Compensation for costs plus profit.
– The engineer will then make the entitlements.
– The contractor is not entitled to any compensation if the delay is due to their own fault or error, including delays in submitting documents.
